Manually Resetting and Configuring Kyocera App

There may be situation when you need clear the Kyocera embedded app of settings. This can occur if:

  1. More than 1 server appears on the embedded device when only 1 should be configured
  2. When launching the app, an error appears saying that it could not connect to the Umango server
  3. You may have a reason to need to manually configure the target server settings

In this instance, please follow the steps below to restore the app to have no server settings configured.

  1. Start the Umango app on the device
  2. Once the app has started, click the icon in the bottom-left corner 5 times in a row as shown in the image below:


  3. A small menu will then appear as seen in the image below:



  4. The app is now reset and ready to have the server assigned again. This can be completed manually (as described further down in this article) or;
  5. You can assign the device as a job source which will configure the app to know how to communicate with the Umango server. Note, the app will only be configured automatically when the first job is assigned to the device. If job(s) are already assigned to the device and the app is cleared, you will need to unassign all job sources first, then assign a job source again, this will then trigger the app configuration.

Manually Configure the App

To manually configure the app for communicate with the Umango server, follow the steps above and then select the Manual Install option. This will present a screen to enter the address and port information.

IP Address: The IP4 address of the Umango server
Port: This must be set to 55580 (make sure your Umango server is set for this Web Service port)
Machine Name: A friendly name for the server eg. Umango
User: Leave this field empty
FTP Port: This must be set to 55521 (make sure your Umango server is set for this FTP port)

Once this information is carefully entered, press the Add button. Then press the device's Home Button to return to the device's native menu. Relaunch the Umango app and you should now see a list of any jobs assigned to the device.
