Why can I see my MFD listed under sources and after I select it and save the job a dialogue advises it was unsuccessful?
The MFD may not support one-touch buttons on the device.
When a job is saved, and no other job is already using the same MFD(s), the software will attempt to install a one-touch button on the MFD. There are many security hurdles that may be in place that can hinder the installation of the button. Each MFD has its own security hurdles, but the following are some common ones experienced;
- The MFD requires a password to allow installation of apps/buttons.
- The MFD may have the connectivity feature turned off for security reasons.
- A proxy or firewall might be impeding the communication between the MFD and the server.
- The MFD might not be set to the correct region and our software does not contain a key for that region.
- The server contains multiple network cards and the MFD is on a different sub-network. In the scenario the server may be unable to determine which network adapter (IP Address) to use as a return address at the MFD.
