Umango Extract is flexible in the style and
scale of its implementation. This allows for small, single user installations running
on a desktop computer, through to multi-user installations deploy to numerous
MFDs and workstations and running in a client server scenario. To support this
flexibility, Umango Extract can be installed in 2 basic configurations.
In a stand-alone configuration, Umango is
installed onto a Windows Server or Windows Desktop OS with no further
complexity. In this configuration, the installation can serve as a provider to
embedded MFDs as well as a GUI for job configuration and batch processing.
Multiple standalone licenses can be deployed across the network, all
functioning independently of one another.
Where multiple user workstations are
required, Umango can be installed and configured to function in a client/server
style configuration where one of the Umango licenses serves as the Umango
Server and workstation licenses provide a GUI for scanning and processing of
batches. Jobs are shared across Umango and a batch within Umango can be
processed at an MFD, the Umango server or at any Umango workstation. All batch automation
and batch exporting is processed by the Umango Server.
When deployed as a client/server style
installation, a typical network topography might look something like the one
below.
An installation of either configuration is
relatively simple to deploy and begins with installing a standalone license. This
is a matter of following the installation wizard and, when prompted, selecting
the "Server/Standalone Installation" option within the installer when prompted.
Prior to installing any workstation licenses, a Umango Server/Standalone installation must have been completed. Once this is done, follow the steps below;
